Ein Naked-Bike-Klassiker mit Ecken, Kanten und Charakter. Die Monster 900 steht für luftgekühlten Desmo-V2, Stahl-Gitterrohrrahmen und maximale Ehrlichkeit – ganz ohne elektronische Filter. Rund 73 PS (78 PS bei der 900 i.e. ab 2000), bis zu 73 Nm Drehmoment, Trockenkupplung, Showa-Fahrwerk und kräftige Brembo-Doppelscheiben vorne machen sie leichtfüßig, kernig und direkt.
Als Gebrauchte verlangt sie Wissen und Pflege: Zahnriemen, Desmoservice und Elektrik sollte man im Blick haben. Vergaser-Versionen sind charismatisch, Einspritzer alltagstauglicher. Die Auswahl am Markt ist klein, gute Exemplare entsprechend gefragt – dafür gibt’s ein Fahrerlebnis, das moderne Naked Bikes oft nur zitieren.

A true naked-bike icon with raw appeal. The Monster 900 combines an air-cooled Desmo V-twin, steel trellis frame and pure, unfiltered riding feel. Around 73 hp (78 hp for the fuel-injected 900 i.e. from 2000), up to 73 Nm of torque, dry clutch, Showa suspension and strong Brembo twin front discs define its character.
As a used bike, it rewards knowledge and care: timing belts, Desmo service and electrics matter. Carb models offer maximum character, fuel-injected versions are more user-friendly. Supply is limited and good bikes are sought after – but the payoff is an authenticity many modern nakeds can only imitate.
